Club Statement

It has come to our attention from reliable sources that on two separate occasions over the past months two football clubs made a request to the Gozo Football Association to play a friendly match against Victoria Hotspurs F.C at the Gozo Stadium. On both occasions the Gozo Football Association denied such a request clearly implying that such refusal was in retaliation to the Club’s decision to start participating in the Malta leagues.

Victoria Hotspurs F.C, strongly condemn this discriminatory behavior towards it. Victoria Hotspurs F.C. is and remains a Gozitan football club with the right to play in the Gozo Stadium just as much as any other Maltese and Gozitan football club are.

Victoria Hotspurs F.C. have no qualms with the GFA and reiterate that the Club had every right to decide to start participating in the Malta Football Association’s leagues.

Any further unjustified refusals in the future by the GFA to similar requests to play friendly matches at the Gozo Stadium by third party Club’s, or by Victoria Hotspurs FC itself, will not be taken lightly anymore.
