𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐬𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐱 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐢 𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡

The Victoria Hotspurs Youth Development Academy (VHYDA), with the technical collaboration of Luxol St. Andrew’s Football Academy, have appointed Max Camilleri as its Head Coach for season 2025- 2026.

In the coming days the Enrolment Forms to participate in the VHYDA will be available from the Club’s premises in Enrico Mizzi Street, Victoria, Gozo, or can be downloaded from the Club’s website www.victoriahotspursfc.com.

The training venue and the schedule of training sessions will be announced very shortly.

The VHYDA will offer children between the ages of 4 and 14 the opportunity to undergo training sessions under the professional guidance of Head Coach Mr. Max Camilleri and under the supervision of Mr. Pippo Psaila, Technical Director of Luxol St. Andrew’s Football Academy, Malta’s foremost youth academy.

Mr. Max Camilleri academic qualifications are the attainment of the ‘Sports Coaching and Performance Foundation Degree’ from the Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK and his Level 2 in ‘Football Coaching’ from the Manchester Football Association. Max will obtain his UEFA License B in March 2025.

Max has worked both as a teacher-coach at primary school level and also led top youth academies in the UK and the US. In 2020 Max worked at the LA Galaxy in California at Youth Competitive Level. When Liverpool F.C. International Academy took over the LA Galaxy Youth Academy Max became Director of their Elite Youngsters Program. Successively Max was appointed First Team Coach of the Los Angeles Force Senior Team, a football club that compete in the US National Independent Soccer Association league.

Apart Max Camilleri, the VHDYA will benefit from the technical support of Mr. Pippo Psaila.

The VHYDA will also be supported by Mr. Oliver Spiteri, Head Coach and Technical Director of Victoria Hotspurs FC, together with former Malta National footballers Ferdinando Apap and Roderick Briffa who be in attendance at select training sessions.

The VHYDA will have a dedicated Committee for the proper administration of the Academy. The new Committee will draft and approve a new VHYDA Statute. The members who will sit on the new Youth Development Committee are Notary Kristen Dimech, Mr. Marc Tabone, Mr. Aldrin Cassar, Mr. Justin Azzopardi, Dr. Mario Farrugia, Mr. Anthony Camilleri and Mr. George Curmi.
