Victoria Hotspurs pay second half distractions
Victoria Hotspurs entertained first division Rabat A.
in their third friendly of the season. The match was a balanced one in
the first period with Rabat then stepping up their pace in the second to
secure a 0-2 victory. Coach Mr Bugeja had a limited number of players at
his disposal, due to work commitments, but had two Nigerian attackers on
trial. All players were deployed as follows: M.Grima(M.Vella), J.Xerri(K.Farrugia),
R.Grech, M.Buttigieg,
M.Vella, N.Borg, C.Hili, J.Portelli, F.Bassi, Nigerian, Nigerian.

Friendly vs Champions
Just 24 hours after their first match of the season, Victoria Hotspurs FC
were again on the pitch to face champions Nadur Y. Coach Mr Bugeja
tested the overall fitness of the team in this tough exercise in which
our boys had to overcome their efforts from the match against
Ghajnsielem. At the end the match ended in 2-3 victory of Nadur Y with
our goals coming from J.Portelli and J.Azzopardi. Mr Bugeja used all players at his disposal as follows : M.Grima, M.Buttigieg(J.Xerri), J.P.Grima(A.Zammit), A.Tramboo,
M.Vella(M.Cremona), N.Borg, J.Mizzi(J.Azzopardi),
R.Grech(C.Hili), J.Portelli, F.Bassi, Nigerian

First Friendly match of new season
Victoria Hotspurs FC continued their preparations for
the start of the new football season by entertaining Ghajnsielem FC at
the Gozo Stadium. For this match our team had four nigerian players on
trial together with Fabiano Bassi and Alex Tramboo. Although it was only
a friendly match, it was an encouraging display from our boys who ended
4-1 winners with goals from Bassi 2, and another two from the nigerian
trialists. Coach Mr Bugeja used all players at his disposal as follows :
M.Grima(M.Vella), M.Buttigieg(M.Cremona), J.P.Grima, A.Tramboo,
M.Vella(C.Buttigieg), S.Xuereb(R.Mercieca), J.Mizzi(N.Borg),

Pre-season training
Victoria Hotspurs FC preparations for season 2008/2009
started as usual with the pre-season training which was held at the
horse racing track limits of Xaghra. Coach Mr Giovann Bugeja, who is
starting his third consecutive season at the club had most of first team
regulars present for this session.

Daniel Farrugia on trial with Birkirkara FC
One of our most promising players, Daniel Farrugia,
has officially started a trial with the Maltese Premier club Birkirkara
FC as from Monday 16th June. Victoria Hotspurs FC wishes the best of
luck to Daniel in this challenging and unique opportunity.

Works-in-progress
The much awaited works on our club's 5 a-side
synthetic pitch started officially yesterday and are expected to be
completed within four to five weeks.

Committee Election
Victoria Hotspurs began preparations for season
2008-2009 by opening the votings to elect the new committee which will
manage the team next season. In all, eleven members, who were nominated
in the Annual General Meeting, are contesting this election.

Victoria Hotspurs Annual General Meeting
Yesterday, all the club's members and players gathered
at the club, to close a very important season for our club and give
start to the next.
